Kathy Pride wears many hats, including author, speaker, parent educator and Diva. Her favorite roles are as a mother to her four children, best friend to her husband, and high energy advocate for people whose hope tanks are running low.

She is the author of five books two of which have been released (Winning the Drug War at Home, Soccer Moms Devotions to Go). Stressed Out Moms Devotions to Go, and UnDoing Church- Discovering Faith: Not Your Mother's Bible Study will release in 2009. Slated for 2010 release (Regal) is What the Bible is All About for Moms. In addition, she has contributed to several anthologies including Chicken Soup for the Soul and the Cup of Comfort and Hugs series.

Kathy has a passion for encouraging individuals to take the worn-out tatters and loose ends of their lives and weave them into lives of new possibility. Her style is entertaining and transparent; nothing is off limits as she approaches difficult topics with energy, honesty, and candor.

She has been described as a mix of Erma Bombeck, Barbara Johnson and Anita Renfrow (except she can't sing!)

Some facts about Kathy:

  • Has been married since 1981, and is the mother of four children, two sons in their twenties and two daughters in elementary school.
  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree with Honors from Brown University in Health and Society (1982) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Bloomsburg University (1990).
  • Has completed the CLASServices Communicator Course.
  • Served as faculty at the Montrose Christian Writer's Conference, July 2005, and Glorieta Christian Writer's Conference, October 2005 and October 2007.
  • Dedicated over twenty years to teaching childbirth education classes, equipping expectant parents with the tools and skills necessary for being prepared for the birth of their baby. In fact she helped prepare over 1,000 families for the birth of their child.
  • Was a founding member of a local drug awareness, education and prevention organization, REAP (Recognize, Educate, Assist, Prevent), in Danville, PA.
  • Served on the Board of the Susquehanna Valley House of Hope and has been newly appointed to serve on the Board of the Hand Up Foundation, Milton, PA.
  • Serves as a resource support person for two therapeutic wilderness programs.
  • Serves as the Missions Director at the church she worships at, Community Mennonite Fellowship, Milton, PA.
